Whakawhiti kōrero and mahi wairua at Te Ao Mārama Healing
Ko wai au
About me
Ko Kingi tōku ingoa. He uri ahau nō Ngāpuhi, Ngāi Tahu me Te Whakatōhea. I was born in Whangārei but spent the majority of my life in Auckland. I recently moved back to Whangārei with my young whānau.
I have felt and seen spirit since I was young. In recent years I've stepped more fully into mahi wairua (spiritual practice), working with whakawhiti kōrero (an exchange of kōrero) and energy work to connect with your wairua alongside you, and to locate anything that may need whakawātea (clearing).
Modern life moves fast. The constant stimuli and conveniences we live with can pull us away from what we already know: that our intuition and our wairua are taonga, here to guide us toward a fulfilling life. My role is to help you remember that.
Aroha
Aroha is where the mahi begins. Aroha can be translated as “love”. It also means to acknowledge your life force and energy. In our session, I meet you with genuine care: for you and for the journey that’s brought you here.
Pono
Pono is truth, integrity and validity. Being honest with ourselves, what is occurring within and who we are in our essence. In a session, I hold steady space for whatever surfaces.
Tika
Tika is doing the right thing at the right time. Each session is led by what's right for you in that moment: your wairua already knows; my role is to listen, follow, and support. We go only as far as is right to go.
Ngā pou whakahaere
My guiding pillars
Like Māui-tikitiki-a-Taranga, who stood between atua and tangata and drew more light into this world, Te Ao Mārama is a bridge. Māui slowed Tama-nui-te-rā so the days would be long enough to live well in; he drew Te Ika-a-Māui from the deep so there would be ground beneath us; he carried fire back from Mahuika so the earth would not go cold. Each was an act of mediation and of reaching into the realm of the atua and bringing something back that tangata could hold. Te Ao Mārama belongs to that same lineage: the world that opened when Tāne pressed apart Ranginui and Papatūānuku and let the light pour in. It is a space where wairua meets us in the everyday, and where, if we are willing to stand in the gap, a little more light can enter.

My offering
Sessions are held either in person at my clinic in central Whangārei or online via video call. The details of either option will be shared once your booking is confirmed.
Whakawhiti kōrero + mahi wairua · 60 min · $111
📍 In person — Whangārei clinic
The session will be a mixture of kōrero and energy healing (with you usually lying on a massage table in person or sitting in a chair), during which I bring your awareness to your breath. I then connect with your energy. During the session, I may move to different parts of your tinana (body) and the surrounding energy.
I will be intuitively guided on where to provide light through channelling energy, whakawātea and karakia. The session is a chance for you to receive light and let the energy do its work. You may feel some heat, energy sensations and emotions during the session. Anything that surfaces is treated with care and confidence.
💻 Online — via video call
A blend of whakawhiti kōrero (consultation), mahi wairua (energy healing), and guidance.
We begin with a kōrero about what has brought you here. From there, depending on what surfaces in that kōrero and what you need, the session can lean more toward healing or more toward guidance.
The guidance might focus on something specific you are facing, or offer broader guidance on how to develop spiritually and grow in your own practice. A session may move through a number of these aspects rather than just one. Where there is energy work, I clear what needs clearing through whakawātea and karakia.
For heavier, trauma-based healing, I may recommend an in-person session instead, as that kind of energy work is often best held in person.
To prepare, find a quiet, comfortable space for the session. Position your camera (phone or computer) so I can see you throughout.
Rongoā
Plant Medicine
During or after in-person sessions, I may offer rongoā, traditional Māori plant medicine. The rongoā used is a tincture created by me, which is made from mānuka rakau (Leptospermum scoparium).
Mānuka
Mānuka is a plant of strength and survival. It is often among the first to return after destruction: after fire, after clearing, after disturbance. It grows where others cannot, reclaiming the land and preparing it for new life. In this way, mānuka carries healing that often begins in the places that have been broken open.
Its gifts
Mānuka has well-known antibacterial and antiviral properties. As rongoā, it offers support across the three dimensions of wellbeing:
Tinana (the body) — supporting the blood, organs and the chest, offering physical cleansing and care.
Wairua (the spirit) — assisting with whakawātea, the clearing and freeing of spiritual heaviness.
Hinengaro (the mind) — helping to bring stillness, quieting the mind so that deeper listening and healing can occur.

“Thank you so much for the healing yesterday. I felt very safe and looked after while spirit and my body communicated and did healing I didn't even know I needed. I felt very peaceful all day, as if I was drifting just above life as it used to be. Nothing got to me, and my heart was wide open.
Being in the respectful, compassionate healing space with you allowed me to surrender my fears and troubles. Thank you again for the opportunity to experience your gift. It’s truly phenomenal!”
